Annotation: EIGHT ANSWER-KEYED CIVIL SERVICE TESTS ARE PRESENTED AS A STUDY AID FOR POLICE OFFICERS SEEKING PROMOTION TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT.
Abstract: THE TESTS CONTAIN A TOTAL OF MORE THAN 750 MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS. ALL QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO LOCAL LAWS AND PRACTICES HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED. THE TESTS INCLUDE QUESTIONS REPRESENTATIVE OF THOSE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED ON SUCH EXAMINATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY (AS OF 1968), AS WELL AS QUESTIONS LIKELY TO POSE PROBLEMS FOR CANDIDATES. A BRIEF NOTE CITING UNUSUAL ASPECTS OF THE TEST AND OFFERING STUDY HINTS PRECEDES EACH TEST.
