Annotation: THE SPEECHES BY LAW PROFESSIONALS AND PRESENTED IN THIS ANTHOLOGY CONSIDER THE MANAGEMENT OF ATTORNEYS GENERAL'S OFFICES WITH PARTICULAR REGARD TO PERSONNEL POLICIES AND THE USE OF COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY.
Abstract: IDEAS ARE OFFERED ON INOFFICE TRAINING OF PERSONNEL AND CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR PARALEGALS, DELEGATION OF STAFF AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY, AND STAFF PARTICIPATION IN MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENT. ONE PAPER STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF HIRING MINORITIES AND OF KEEPING SALARIES ON A COMPETITIVE LEVEL WITH WAGES FOR SIMILAR JOBS IN INDUSTRY. THE LEGAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE LIMITATIONS OF PARALEGALS ARE OUTLINED, AND THEIR EFFICIENT UTILIZATION IN ATTORNEYS GENERAL'S OFFICES IS DISCUSSED. PERSONNEL CAN BE SUCCESSFULLY MOTIVATED AND EVALUATED IF GOALS AND OBJECTIVES ARE MADE CLEAR, INTEROFFICE COMMUNICATIONS ARE KEPT FREE AND OPEN, AND REGULAR EMPLOYEE CRITIQUES ARE CONDUCTED. SUGGESTIONS ARE PROVIDED FOR BUDGETING RESOURCES AND DEVELOPING GOOD PUBLIC RELATIONS. A LARGE PART OF THE DISCUSSIONS CONSIDER UTILIZATION OF COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY FOR DOCKET CONTROL, TIME STUDIES, FILING, FISCAL CONTROL, AND WORKLOAD ALLOCATION. (DAG)
