Annotation: THIS SECOND ANNUAL REPORT PRESENTS STATISTICAL DATA COMPILED FROM REPORTS FILED WITH THE KENTUCKY STATE POLICE, THE CENTRALIZED COLLECTING AGENCY FOR ALL ACCIDENT REPORTS IN THE STATE.
Abstract: IT IS NOTED THAT THE 958 TRAFFIC DEATHS RECORDED IN 1977 CONSTITUTE A 10 PERCENT INCREASE OVER 1976. THE DEATH RATE OF 3.5 PER 100 MILLION VEHICLE MILES IN 1977 IS INDICATED TO BE A 6 PERCENT INCREASE OVER 1976. THE RECKLESS DRIVING PATTERNS OF YOUNG MALES ON RURAL ROADS IS PARTICULARLY MENTIONED AS A TRAFFIC SAFETY PROBLEM IN KENTUCKY.
