Annotation: MUNICIPAL AND STATE PROVISIONS RELEVANT TO THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE GUN CONTROL ACT OF 1968 ARE COMPILED FOR FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSEES.
Abstract: RELEVANT PORTIONS OF STATE AND MUNICIPAL LAWS WHICH PERTAIN TO THE PURCHASE OR POSSESSION OF FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION ARE PRESENTED. THE RELEVANCY CRITERIA OF THE GUN CONTROL LAW IS INCLUDED FOR REFERENCE. THROUGH THIS COMPILATION THE FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSEE IS INFORMED OF LOCAL REQUIREMENTS THAT APPLY TO FIREARMS TRANSACTIONS AT THE PLACE OF SALE, DELIVERY, OR OTHER DISPOSITION. MUNICIPAL ORDINANCES AND STATE LAW ARE ARRANGED ALPHABETICALLY BY CITY AND STATE. THIS COMPILATION IS INTENDED TO AID IN ENSURING FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSEES THAT FIREARMS ARE ACQUIRED ONLY BY PERSONS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE OR POSSESS THEM, IN ADDITION, ACQUISITION AND DISPOSITION RECORDS ARE IMPORTANT IN TRACING FIREARMS SUSPECTED IN USE OF CRIME TO THEIR POSSESSORS. SEVERAL OTHER U.S. TERRITORIES ARE ALSO REPRESENTED. (RFC)
