Annotation: THIS VOLUME OF A TRAINING MANUAL FOR PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO SECURITY DUTIES AT A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT PRESENTS A WEAPONS TRAINING PROGRAM.
Abstract: LESSON PLANS ARE PRESENTED FOR THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS OF THE COURSE: INTRODUCTION TO WEAPONS TRAINING; DESCRIPTION AND MECHANICAL TRAINING WITH THE SEMIAUTOMATIC RIFLE, THE 12-GAUGE SHOTGUN, AND THE HANDGUN; DAY AND NIGHTTIME FIRING PRACTICE USING EACH WEAPON; AND LIVE-FIRE TESTS WITH EACH WEAPON TO DETERMINE THE STUDENT'S QUALIFYING SCORE. INSTRUCTORS ARE REQUIRED TO PREPARE CERTAIN MATERIALS TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE STUDENTS, INCLUDING CHARTS AND DIAGRAMS OF WEAPONS ASSEMBLY AS WELL AS RANGE RULES AND TARGETS. IN ADDITION, AUDIOVISUAL AIDS AVAILABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR ARE MENTIONED, WITH BRIEF SUBJECT DESCRIPTIONS AND ORDERING INFORMATION. THE INFORMATION IN THE MANUAL IS INTENDED TO TYPIFY THE LEVEL AND SCOPE OF SECURITY PERSONNEL TRAINING NECESSARY FOR LICENSEES. BODY POSITIONS FOR CARRYING OR HOLDING A SHOTGUN ARE ILLUSTRATED. (WJR)
