Annotation: THE SECOND VOLUME OF THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION SITE SECURITY PERSONNEL TRAINING MANUAL PROVIDES GUIDANCE TO ASSIST LICENSEES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SECURITY PERSONNEL TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS PROGRAMS.
Abstract: THE INFORMATION IN THE MANUAL TYPIFIES THE LEVEL AND SCOPE OF TRAINING FOR PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO PERFORM SECURITY-RELATED TASKS AND JOB DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROTECTION OF NUCLEAR FUEL CYCLE FACILITIES AND NUCLEAR POWER REACTORS. A TOTAL OF 47 LESSONS ARE PRESENTED. EACH LESSON INCLUDES A GENERAL LESSON DESCRIPTION WITH TIME ALLOTMENT, LEARNING OUTCOME, NOTEBOOK MATERIAL, RECOMMENDED STUDENT READING AND SUGGESTED STUDENT READING, A LESSON PLAN WHICH ORGANIZES THE INSTRUCTOR'S PRESENTATION, A STUDENT STUDY GUIDE, AND A SET OF SELF-STUDY QUESTIONS. SOME OF THE LESSON TITLES INCLUDE FACILITY ORGANIZATION AND OPERATION, DESCRIPTION OF PHYSICAL BARRIERS, WEAPONS AND KEY CONTROL, FAMILIARIZATION WITH SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIAL, CONTRABAND DETECTION EQUIPMENT, RESPONSE TO ALARMS, AWARENESS TRAINING, AND CONTIGENCY PROCEDURES.
