Abstract: THE DIRECTORY LISTS CRIME VICTIM ASSISTANCE SERVICES BY CATEGORY AND BY PARISH. PARISHES ARE LISTED IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. AGENCY TELEPHONE NUMBERS AND ADDRESSES ARE INCLUDED. IF AN AGENCY OFFERS MORE THAN ONE SERVICE, THE AGENCY'S ADDRESS APPEARS UNDER THE FIRST SERVICE LISTED FOR THAT AGENCY. DIRECTORY INFORMATION IS BASED ON A QUESTIONNAIRE SURVEY OF 370 AGENCIES FOR WHICH A 66 PERCENT RESPONSE WAS RECEIVED. SERVICES LISTED INCLUDE CHILD ABUSE PROTECTION, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, CRISIS COUNSELING, MEDICAL ASSISTANCE, REFERRAL ASSISTANCE, WIFE ABUSE PROTECTION, LEGAL ASSISTANCE, VICTIM/WITNESS ASSISTANCE, CRIME PREVENTION EDUCATION, AND VICTIM COMPENSATION.
