Abstract: AN ARTICLE ON ROAD SAFETY IN HOLLAND GIVES ROAD ACCIDENT STATISTICS AND DISCUSSES METHODS OF TEACHING ROAD SAFETY, ACCIDENT CAUSES, AND ROAD SAFETY INSTRUCTION IN SCHOOLS. IT ALSO EMPHASIZES THE NEED FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS. THE FBI (FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION) ACADEMY, TWO OF ITS INSTITUTES FOR POLICE, AND TWO POLICE ACADEMIES ARARR DISCUSSED. THE FBI'S HIGH PERSONNEL STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS THAT ITS RECRUITS TAKE 16 WEEKS OF TRAINING AT ITS NEW ACADEMY IN QUANTICO, VIRGINIA ARE DESCRIBED. ALSO DESCRIBED IS THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACADEMY WHICH TRAINS POLICE FOR SEVERAL NORTHERN VIRGINIA COUNTIES, AND THE METROPOLITAN POLICE ACADEMY, WASHINGTON, D.C.. ANOTHER ARTICLE CONCERNS MOTORCYCLE INSTRUCTION IN FRANCE, CONDUCTED AT THE SENS ACADEMY. COURSES LAST 10 TO 14 WEEKS, INCLUDE MUCH ROUGH GROUND RIDING TO TEACH BALANCE AND CONTROL, AND COVER TRAFFIC LAW AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT. AN ARTICLE ON POLICE RESERVE FORCES IN FRANCE AND GERMANY, THE CRS AND BEPO UNITS, DISCUSSES ROLES AND DUTIES, COMMAND STRUCTURES, ORGANIZATION, AND WEAPONS. A FINAL REPORT SURVEYS THE DANISH POLICE AS A NATIONAL POLICE FORCE; ITS TASKS, DUTIES, ORGANIZATION, AND PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS; AND THE DANISH PENAL CODE AND CRIME PREVENTION POLICIES.(PAP)
