Annotation: THIS GUIDE IS AIMED AT HELPING COURSE ADMINISTRATORS, COORDINATORS, AND INS TRUCTORS IN SETTING UP AND ADMINISTERING A NATIONAL EMERGENCY AID RADIO (NEAR AND CITIZEN BAND (CB) CHANNEL 9 MONITOR TRAINING PROGRAM.
Abstract: THE COURSE, DESIGNED FOR A CLASS MAKE-UP THAT COMBINES TRAINED PUBLIC SAFET AGENCY PERSONNEL PLUS VOLUNTEER MONITORS WITH NO SPECIFIC TRAINING IN EMERGENCY RESPONSES, IS STRUCTURED AROUND A 2-HOUR FILM. THE COURSE IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE THE TRAINEE WITH SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF THE DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE NEAR/CB CHANNEL 9 MONITOR TO BE ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY AND EFFICIENTLY CONTACT THE APPROPRIATE EMERGENCY SERVICE RESOURCE. THE COURSE IS KEYED TO MONITORING, INFORMATION-GATHERING, REPORTING, AND RECORDING FUNCTIONS. THE GUIDE BRIEFLY OUTLINES THE CONTENT AND STRUCTURING FOR AN EFFECTIVE JOB-RELEVANT MONITOR TRAINING PROGRAM AND ASSISTS THE COURSE ADMINISTRATOR IN ORGANIZING AND EVALUATING THE COURSE. INCLUDED IN PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS ARE INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT QUALIFICATIONS, CLASS SIZE, AND SCHEDULING. TRAINING RESOURCES DETAILED ARE FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT, AND SUPPLIES.
