Annotation: STATISTICAL TABLES ISSUED BY THE MASSACHUSETTS PAROLE BOARD REFLECT ALL THE PAROLE TRANSACTIONS WHICH TOOK PLACE IN 1975, INCLUDING PAROLE PERMITS, DISCHARGES, TERMINATIONS, AND WARRANT DATA.
Abstract: TABLES 1 THROUGH 12 SHOW THE NUMBER AND TYPE OF PAROLE PERMITS ISSUED, 31.6% OF WHICH WERE AT STATE INSTITUTIONS, 12.2% AT PRERELEASE CENTERS, AND 56.2% AT COUNTY HOUSES OF CORRECTIONS. THE REPORT DESCRIBES DISCHARGE AND TERMINATION CONDITIONS, INCLUDING THE FACT THAT FOR MOST PAROLEES PAROLE SUPERVISION ENDS ON THE PAROLE DISCHARGE DATE, AT WHICH TIME A CERTIFICATE OF DISCHARGE IS ISSUED. THE PAROLE DISCHARGE DATE IS DETERMINED UPON RELEASE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TYPE OF SENTENCE AND INSTITUTIONAL DEDUCTIONS FROM THE SENTENCE, SUCH AS GOOD CONDUCT. WARRANT DATA REFLECT PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANTS WHICH, IF SERVED, CAUSE THE PAROLE PERMIT TO BE REVOKED BY THE PAROLE BOARD PRIOR TO ITS EXPIRATION AND THE PAROLEE TO BE RETURNED TO THE ORIGINAL COMMITTING INSTITUTION TO COMPLETE THE UNEXPIRED PORTION OF HIS SENTENCE. THIRTY STATISTICAL TABLES ARE INCLUDED IN THIS STATISTICAL REPORT.
