Annotation: AN EX-CONVICT WHO SERVED 18 YEARS IN A MAXIMUM SECURITY CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION NARRATES THE PROBLEMS AND SUCCESSES HE EXPERIENCED AFTER HIS RELEASE.
Abstract: A SOCIAL SERVICE VOLUNTEER HELPED THE SPEAKER IN HIS READJUSTMENT PROCESS. JOB RESTRICTIONS PLACED ON EX-OFFENDERS, AND PROBLEMS IN DEALING WITH EVERYDAY SITUATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE DESCRIBED. THE SPEAKER TELLS OF HIS NEW RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLE AND FOR SOCIAL VALUES, AND RELATES HOW HE MARRIED AND BOUGHT A HOME. THIS AUDIO CASSETTE WAS PREPARED FROM A RADIO INTERVIEW AND IS INTENDED FOR A GENERAL AUDIENCE. NO SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED. THE FIRST PART APPEARS UNDER NCJ-68990.
