Annotation: This catalog of selected training materials for correctional officers provides brief descriptions of films, audio materials, case materials, and an array of publications and studies available for implementing a variety of curricular plans.
Abstract: Published by the Center for the Study of Crime, Delinquency and Corrections under an Office of Law Enforcement Assistance grant, the volume provides a partial inventory of correctional training materials within twelve different categories. Films available for rental from the Center for the Study of Crime, Delinquency and Corrections, are described. Textbooks, corrections periodicals, and information services from Federal, State, university and private agencies are listed and described. A list of suggested publications and periodicals for a staff training officers library is presented. Other resources listed include associations with an interest in corrections, bibliographies, disc and tape recordings, and correspondence courses available from the 62 correspondence study programs organized by members of the National University Extension Association. Written and audio case materials, new titles in criminology and corrections, and feature films of interest for corrections are also listed. Materials' prices and sources are also given.
