Abstract: This listing of State agencies was drawn primarily from 'State Administrative Officials' and 'Juvenile and Adult Correctional Departments, Institutions, Agencies and Paroling Authorities--United States and Canada.' Agencies are listed by name for States having one agency providing all social services and separately for States having one agency providing all services, except adult corrections. As relates to these charts, 'agency providing all services' should be interpreted to mean the State agency with the primary responsibility for providing services in juvenile delinquency, adult corrections, child welfare, social services, and welfare. Agencies and subunits of the agencies are listed for States having one agency for both adult and juvenile corrections. Finally, agency names are listed for states having separate adult and juvenile corrections agencies.
Index Term(s): Canada; Social service agencies; State correctional facilities; State-by-state analyses; United States of America
