Annotation: This annotated bibliography, revised in October 1979, contains references to police and criminal justice literature with an emphasis on police administration.
Abstract: A total of 1,128 references are included; an estimated two-thirds of the references were not listed in the previous edition. The contents encompass references to general law enforcement and criminal justice literature and to works on police administration and management, law, community relations, conflict management, detectives, firearms, personnel, patrol, and traffic. New sections in this edition cover police chiefs and relationships with local government, productivity, performance measurement, and accountability and discretion. Others deal with facilities, police and behavioral science, detectives and criminal investigation, firearms and deadly force, corruption, discipline, job hazards, stress, and team policing.
