Annotation: A statistical overview is provided of persons under the jurisdiction of New York State's Division of Parole for calendar year 1977.
Abstract: Following information on caseload movements of parolees under active supervision during the year, are statistical and demographic profiles for inmates released to parole supervision during the year. Data are also presented on the number and type of parole violations in 1977, along with the rates of delinquency and reincarceration for 1977 and prior years. Outcome statistics on parole board hearings and decisions are provided, and feedback is included on parolees maintained under supervision while residing in other States. Miscellaneous data on the parolees are given as well; for example, figures on supervision contacts made by parole officers during 1977 and the employment status of parolees are noted. Finally, data are presented on the executive clemency applications processed and approved during the year. (Author abstract modified)
