Discussion covers the effects and limitations of aerosol tear gas, types of handheld tear gas units, selection of a unit, storage and safety, identification of personal danger zones, how and when to carry a unit, how to use a tear gas unit, how to spray an attacker, and periodic testing and disposal of a unit. The final lecture explains decontamination of affected persons. Several types and models of handheld units are presented and care is taken not to endorse or feature any specific product.
