Annotation: This crime prevention resource directory lists Virginia Police and sheriff's crime prevention programs and resources agency by agency, Virginia State crime prevention programs, national crime prevention programs, sources of free printed crime prevention materials, and crime prevention films.
Abstract: For the police and sheriff's crime prevention programs, resources and services are listed for each agency. Topics under the resources category are staff, training, displays (locks, alarms, etc.), equipment (movie projector, slide projector, engravers, etc.), films, and slides. Film and slide titles are listed without content descriptions. In the services category, program descriptive titles are listed, and resource sharing activities are briefly described. Titles and addresses of State crime prevention programs are provided, and contact persons and their telephone numbers are listed. Program activities are described. Information on the national crime prevention programs is the same as that provided for the State programs. Addresses where free printed materials may be obtained are given, along with publication titles and content subjects. The film guide summarizes the content of the most commonly used crime prevention films. Films are listed by program areas. A glossary, including program definitions, is included.
