Annotation: Significant accomplishments and relevant data concerning the Australian Capital Territory Police for the year ended June 30, 1978, are presented.
Abstract: The administration and organization of the force are discussed, including recruitment, inservice training, retirements, awards, and promotions. Criminal offenses for the period are examined, and increased in offenses against persons, against property, and against good order are noted. Data on fraud, malicious damage, motor vehicle offenses, drugs, juvenile crime, and notorious criminal acts are mentioned. General policing functions are detailed, including policing demonstrations, special patrols, security coverage for diplomats, and rural patrol. Activities of the traffic division and specialist and support services (crime intelligence unit, public relations section, and juvenile aid bureau) are noted. Tabular and graphic data and an index are included.
