Annotation: This annual provides information and statistics on the Minnesota corrections ombudsman's budget, organization, case processing procedure, and caseload.
Abstract: A narrative discussion covers caseload analysis, institutional distribution of cases, categories of contacts, and case disposition. A chart portrays intake case distribution by institution, and graphs address ombudsman intake, methods of contacting the ombudsman, time lapse between case intake and staff interview, time lapse between case intake and staff resolution, and total contacts received (1973-82). Tabular data deal with total ombudsman cases closed, request and complaint case closed, total caseload, population by institution, case resolution by category, complaint validity, unopened case disposition by category, referrals, and case distribution comparison. The appendixes contain the corrections ombudsman statute and ombudsman policy recommendations.
