Annotation: This 1983 annual report reviews Alaska's victim compensation legislation and claim processing procedures, followed by statistical and analytical information on claims and a summary of cases, including the decisions and awards given.
Abstract: Statistical information encompasses administrative costs; the number of claims filed for each type of offense for fiscal years 1974-83; the number of claims received and heard as well as total awards and pending claims at the end of the year for fiscal 1973-83; and crimes reported in Alaska for calendar years 1973-82 (homicide, aggravated assaults, rape, and robbery). The summary of each claim for 1983 outlines the offense incident, indicates the basis for each case decision, and lists the monetary award.
