Annotation: This text discusses the establishment of Nebraska's Crime Victim's Reparations Board (CVRB) and summarizes claims filed in 1981.
Abstract: The merger of the CVRB with the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice is reported, and the membership of the Board is described. Further, eligibility for compensation is defined, and application and claim processing procedures are delineated. In 1981, awards totalled $55,378; $15,508.35 of this amount was for 1980 claims. Sixty-nine claims for compensation were filed in 1981; of $120,859 requested, $39,452.80 was awarded. Seventeen claims were denied, 1 was withdrawn, and 24 are pending. The appendix lists claimants for 1981 and includes the name of the victim and claimant, a description of each case, and the decision on the claim.
