Annotation: This 100-item annotated bibliography contains listings for selected crime prevention resource materials available from Canada's Ministry of Attorney General, the Ministry of the Solicitor General of Canada, and the Justice Institute of British Columbia as of October 1983.
Abstract: The publication dates for the materials range from 1971 to 1982. Types of publications include books, journal articles, papers, kits, literature reviews, conference presentations, bibliographies, and technical reports. Some listings discuss general principles of community organization and participation, and others specifically address community organization and participation in crime prevention programs. General issues, theories, and strategies of crime prevention (including preventive policing and juvenile delinquency prevention) are discussed in one category of listings, and other listings focus on preventing crimes against the elderly, juvenile delinquency prevention, police services for youth, and school crime (vandalism and violence) prevention programs. Additional categories are crime prevention through environmental design, crime prevention research, preventing theft offenses, and preventing vandalism. All publications are in English.
