Abstract
The brochure emphasizes the facts and consequences of substance abuse while enhancing the parent and child relationship. Subjects covered in the brochure include identifying the problem, what parents can say, providing guidance, enhancing self-esteem, teaching values, and serving as a role model. Peer pressure is discussed, along with skills necessary to overcome negative peer pressure. Families are encouraged to make policies forbidding experimentation with alcohol.
