Abstract
Activities included the development of a comprehensive plan for dealing with juvenile delinquency, the implementation of many of the recommendations of the Committee on More Effective Use of Juries, the completion of a report on how to improve case processing, and the opening of a model self-service center and QuickCourt kiosks to assist self-represented litigants. Several programs were initiated to address the demands and deficiencies of capital punishment litigation. Other accomplishments included the establishment of a certification process for probation officers, an administrative order to guide court employees regarding public access to information and records, a field training program on the ethics of court operations, a risk and needs assessment of juvenile offenders, and other improvements in the juvenile justice system. The State's courts received 2,095,586 case filings, an increase of 205,407 from the level in fiscal year 1994. Figures, table, and photograph
