Annotation: This report describes how satisfied participants in the Northeast Gang Information System (NEGIS) were with the technical aspects of the program’s design and implementation.
Abstract: The NEGIS program was intended to enable local, State, and Federal law enforcement personnel across the country to share and exchange gang-related intelligence. The report addresses how well NEGIS did in achieving two primary deliverables: (1) demonstrating a functional gang information sharing system; and (2) preparing an architecture for an automated system for accessing interconnected but separate and stand-alone State networks. In addition, a survey of NEGIS participants sought to determine their satisfaction with the technical aspects of the program’s design and implementation. The survey targeted architecture, hardware configuration, NEGIS configuration and technical implementation. The report presents survey findings in those categories as well as brief summaries highlighting specific relevant comments by survey participants. Figures, appendix
