Annotation: This issue of AMBER Advocate presents several articles from Federal, State, and local government and nongovernmental agencies and organizations on child abduction initiatives and innovations under the AMBER Alert program.
Abstract: This issue features stories on: the 2007 National Missing Children’s Day Ceremony in which U.S. Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales honored AMBER Alert heroes; the AMBER Alert that saved a child’s life in Maricopa, AZ; Canadian province, Manitoba signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Minnesota and North Dakota for cooperation in cross-border Amber Alerts; Personality Profile for Cinda Lubich, Illinois AMBER Alert Coordinator; a new guide titles “What About Me? Coping With the Abduction of a Brother or Sister” to helps victim’s siblings who are often unrecognized victims of child abduction; the AMBER Alerts in Indian Country Initiative which is working with Tribal communities to expand efforts to recover missing and abducted children; Ham Radio and AMBER Alerts which promotes old technology as the newest communication tool to promote public awareness in California by an organization founded in 1952, the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES); and a final page outlining important information, resources, and events.
