Instructions for Enabling JavaScript in Various Browsers

The NCJRS Web site requires that JavaScripts be enabled in your browser to utilize a number of available features. Basic instructions are available below for enabling JavaScript through your browser.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x or 6.x

  1. Select "Tools" from the browser menu bar then select "Internet Options."
  2. From Internet Options, select the "Security" tab.
  3. Click "Custom Level."
  4. Scroll down to "Scripting," make sure "Active Scripting" is set to Enable, click "OK."
  5. Click "Yes" or "OK" when prompted, "Are sure you wish to change the security settings for this zone."
  6. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  7. Close Internet Explorer and relaunch Internet Explorer.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x

  1. Select "Tools" from the browser menu bar then select "Internet Options."
  2. From Internet Options, select the "Security" tab.
  3. Click "Custom Level."
  4. Scroll down to "Scripting," make sure "Active Scripting" is set to Enable.
  5. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  6. Close Internet Explorer and relaunch Internet Explorer.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x

  1. Select "View" from the browser menu bar then select "Internet Options."
  2. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  3. Scroll down to "Scripting," make sure "Active Scripting" is set to Enable.
  4. Click "OK."
  5. Click "Yes" or "OK"
  6. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  7. Close Internet Explorer and relaunch Internet Explorer.

Netscape Communicator 4.x

  1. Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  2. Find the "Enable JavaScript" section in the "Advanced" category.
  3. Select "Enable JavaScript ".
  4. Click "OK."
  5. Close all open Netscape windows and then relaunch Netscape

Mozilla Firefox (1.0)

  1. Select "Tools" from the top menu.
  2. Choose "Options."
  3. Choose "Web Features" from the left navigation.
  4. Select the checkbox next to "Enable JavaScript" and click "OK."

Mozilla Firefox (1.5)

  1. Select "Tools" from the top menu.
  2. Choose "Options."
  3. Choose "Content" from the top navigation.
  4. Select "Enable JavaScript" and click "OK."

Apple Safari (1.0)

  1. Select "Safari" from the top menu.
  2. Choose "Preferences."
  3. Choose "Security."
  4. Select "Enable JavaScript."
