Juvenile Delinquency GuidelinesJuvenile Delinquency Guidelines: Improving Court Practice in Juvenile Delinquency Cases was released on July 20, 2005, by J. Robert Flores, OJJDP Administrator, and Mary Mentaberry, Executive Director of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ). A cooperative effort by NCJFCJ and OJJDP, the guidelines define key principles of a "juvenile delinquency court of excellence" and set forth essential elements of effective practice for each court process involved in handling delinquency cases, from intake through postdisposition review. The guidelines also discuss implementation issues and provide checklists, a glossary, and resource materials.
