This annual report (April 1, 1985 - March 31, 1986) for New York State's Community Dispute Resolution Centers (CDRC's) Program presents data and narrative information on CDRC's in each of the State's 12 judicial districts.
Abstract
The CDRC is a community-based, nonprofit program that contracts with New York State's unified court system to provide conciliation, mediation, arbitration, and other forms and techniques of dispute resolution services. CDRC's exist in 53 of the State's 62 counties, giving 97 percent of the State's population access to alternative dispute resolution forums. Reports on CDRC's by county in each of the judicial districts provide data on contacts, referrals, case characteristics, processing time, and the amount of restitution awards. Data for the entire judicial district cover the area and population served; the amount of grants awarded; the number of contacts and referrals; and the number of conciliations, mediations, and arbitrations. Tabular data encompass a workload analysis for all programs, a client demographic analysis, workload summary by program, referral sources by program, statewide referral comparisons, a fiscal summary, and a cost analysis. Information is provided on statewide research projects, staffing, public information efforts, new legislation, and problems. Appended brochures, newsletters, and a list of current CDRC's.
