Testimony before the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Security and Terrorism covers possible violations of Federal law by private mercenary training camps in the United States and Federal agencies' enforcement efforts.
Abstract
Testimony by a representative of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms pertains to the bureau's enforcement of Federal firearms statutes against private firearms combat training camps. Much of the bureau's efforts have addressed training by extremist groups such as the Aryan Nation, The Order, the Ku Klux Klan, Posse Comitatus, and The Sword and The Arm of The Lord. Testimony by a representative of the US State Department focuses on the Customs Bureau's enforcement of the Arms Export Control Act and the accompanying International Traffic in Arms Regulations, which require persons engaged in exporting or importing' defense articles or defense services to obtain a license from the State Department. A US Justice Department representative reviews the enforcement of other relevant Federal statutes, such as the Federal Explosives Statute and other statutes which address criminal conspiracies against foreign countries with whom the United States is at peace. An FBI representative testifies about enforcement efforts against mercenary training camps that violate Federal laws.
