Abstract
The training curriculum encompasses three 2-hour sessions. The first session explains the history and background of child sexual abuse, presents a film depicting the dynamics and progression of incest behaviors, lectures on the dynamics of child sexual abuse and the difference between intrafamilial and extrafamilial child sexual abuse, and presents an audiotape or videotape of the actual interrogation of offenders and victims. The second session explains sex offense types and the victim physical examination and presents graded slides of physical trauma to teach wound identification. The third session, which focuses on victim interviewing, addresses interviewing techniques, the difference between interviewing and interrogating, the use of videotape in interviews, interview role playing, modeling by the instructor, and the presentation of an actual videotaped interview. The content for the three sessions is summarized. 5 references.
