Based on data received by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence as of September 1986, this directory provides information on over 1,200 programs serving victims of domestic violence, as well as lists of State domestic violence coalitions, national resources, and programs for batterers.
Abstract
Domestic violence programs are listed alphabetically by State. Program profiles describe the services offered: shelter, safe home, 24-hour hotline, counseling/advocacy, children's counseling, job counseling/training, and legal services. Information is also provided on maximum length of stay, fees, shelter capacity, community outreach efforts, numbers of paid staff and volunteers, wheelchair accessibility, languages spoken other than English, and accessibility of services to the hearing impaired. A partial listing of services for batterers is included.
