This report provides an overview of New York State's criminal justice expenditures for State agencies and local jurisdictions overall and by functions for fiscal years 1980-84.
Abstract
Data were obtained from the Office of the State Comptroller, the Division of Municipal Affairs, and the Bureau of Municipal Research and Statistics. Following an overview of statewide expenditures, local justice spending, and State justice spending, expenditures are presented by function. The functions pertain to services provided by law enforcement, sheriff, defense, prosecution, court, probation, correction, parole, crime victim agencies, the Division for Youth Services, and the Division of Criminal Justice Services. Expenditures are also presented for local criminal justice assistance programs such as the Division of Probation and Correctional Alternatives. Appended summary data and criminal justice employment data. 15 data tables and extensive data charts.
