Study data were gathered in 1983 using self-administered questionnaires given to a nonprobability sample of felons in 10 States. Information includes the inmates' socioeconomic status, prior criminal record, drug use, weapon use, family history, and demographic information. Data cover a total of 600 variables. Each case has 10 records of information. The codebook contains information about the original questionnaire wording, the responses, the coding of the data, frequencies, and values for missing data.
