Two annotated bibliographies list publications pertaining to community service programs and alternatives to incarceration, with particular emphasis on programs for convicted drunk drivers.
Abstract
The bibliography on community service programs contains listings of 176 publications (surveys, evaluations, books, studies, and articles) published between 1970 and 1983. The bibliography on alternatives to incarceration lists approximately 462 publications (studies, books, and articles) published between 1978 and 1980. Topics covered are alternatives to incarceration generally, alternatives involving some incarceration, community involvement, special treatment programs, diversion, fines, alternatives to incarceration in Georgia, international programs, and private programs. Appendixes summarize major State legislation pertaining to alternatives to incarceration. For other volumes in this study, see NCJ 104570-71.
