This annotated bibliography presents 557 citations dating from 1939-1986. Citations focus on child sexual abuse by strangers and drawn from the social science, medical, and legal literature.
Abstract
The documents were mostly published between 1970 and 1986. The documents all consider some aspect of the exposure of a prepubescent child to inappropriate sexual stimulation by a person at least 10 years older who is unrelated either legally or biologically. Documents include statistical studies, historical analyses, clinical descriptions of child molesters, and discussions of homosexual child molestation. They also include studies and analyses of the effects of molestation on children, the treatment of child molesters, the treatment of molested children, legal issues, child pornography and sex rings, the prevention of child molestation, pedophile groups, literature reviews, and books. Concluding comments note the wide variety of methodologies and disciplines involved in the examination of this issue. Author, title, and subject indexes.
