The National Center for Juvenile Justice, the research division of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, maintains the National Juvenile Court Data Archive.
Abstract
The Archive collects, documents, and disseminates to researchers and policymakers the data routinely produced by the Nation's juvenile courts. In 1983, the Archive received information from nearly every State. Data from 25 States having jurisdiction over 56 percent of the Nation's juvenile population were used as a base to generate national estimates of the delinquency and status offense cases processed by courts with juvenile jurisdiction in 1983. The results of this effort were reported in 'Delinquency in the United States 1983.' Major findings of that report are presented. (Publisher abstract modified)
