Abstract
The Deputy Orientation Program instructs newly assigned patrol officers in the functions required by their new assignment. This manual describes the five evaluation devices used to measure the trainee's progress and explains the use of the standardized evaluation form and the patrol manual. Training duration and a suggested program schedule are also specified. Procedures for handling trainees with performance learning difficulties are reviewed. The listing of training responsibilities applies to the captain, lieutenant, sergeant, training officer, and trainee. The procedures for evaluating the field training program are described. The manual contains the standardized evaluation form, a training checklist, and the eight written training exams.
