Statistical interpretations of automotive paint evidence are limited, in part, to the existence and accuracy of a color distribution data base pertinent to the geographical area of concern.
Abstract
Efforts have been undertaken within the R.C.M. Police Laboratories to compile a data base of 'on the road' automotive topcoat paint colors. A total of 16,074 vehicles were assessed in Vancouver, Regina, and Halifax. Color distributions, as determined by these surveys, are compared to distribution statistics compiled provincially at the time of motor vehicle registration. (Publisher abstract)
