Abstract
Under the policy, the department of health services will isolate inmates from the general prison population whenever this is deemed necessary. In addition, the department will provide an individual treatment plan for such inmates that will include directions to correctional staff on their role in the supervision of inmates requiring medical isolation. Procedures for minimizing the risk of disease transmission and decontamination are provided for infectious diseases requiring various categories of isolation. Enteric and blood and body fluid precautions for additional infectious diseases are outlined. Diseases requiring these types of isolation or precautions are listed.
