The mission of the criminal justice network is the effective application of public resources to control crime in Michigan. Indications of system defects include unrecorded arrests, deficient disposition reporting, and poor fingerprinting practices. The network is described as a five-part structure comprised of law enforcement agencies, prosecuting attorneys, the court system, the corrections system, and Central Records Division.
