Abstract
The programs described are products of months of research, analysis, and planning by governments and agencies at the local, regional, and State levels. Action programs pertaining to planning and administration research, planning, and evaluation pertain to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Advisory Council planning and evaluation for the Juvenile Justice Unit and discretionary funding for the council. Among proposals for the unified juvenile justice system are a statewide juvenile court information system, joint State agency training for field staff, an intern program, and specialized training programs. Proposals for specialized treatment services encompass modular programs for special needs offenders, intensive probation, drug and alcohol treatment, restitution and mediation, work experience, in-school probation program, sex offender treatment, and adventure-based short-term treatment. Other programs address early intervention, prevention strategies, and transitional services for juveniles leaving institutions. Appended applicant requirements.
