Abstract
Programs developed in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Elizabeth, New Jersey; Guadalupe, Arizona; Hartford, Connecticut; Houston, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; Sacramento, California; and Salt Lake City, Utah are described. Each community developed a child abuse/neglect or runaway youth initiative program tailored to meet its needs. Other programs focused on development of resource information, a shelter for homeless and runaway youth, a training manual for service providers; crisis intervention, and family stabilization.
