Included in the symposium materials is an article outlining special attitudinal training for those law enforcement and hospital emergency room personnel who assist rape victims. Also found, a copy of H.R. 3986, a bill that would amend the Community Mental Health Centers Act to provide further research and service to victims of rape. The symposium materials include the testimony of Professor Harry T. O'Reilly on his experiences as supervisor of the Sex Crimes Unit of the New York Police Department. Other materials include articles on sex crimes investigations, recognizing the credibility of sex crime victims, guidelines for law enforcement officers who respond to sexual assault cases, and guidelines for conducting a rape investigation or a sex crime case. Information is also given for law enforcement officers on how to prepare public lectures on rape prevention and how to serve the needs of rape victims and witnesses. The symposium materials also include an anonymous narrative by a woman who was sexually abused as a child.
