The intent of JJA was to create additional services and to access or make better use of local available sources. Factors contributing to the success of the program include community involvement, the use of a problem solving approach, and the sharing of resources. A most difficult task has been to describe the program and to assure people that JAA does not advocate that youth development organizations abandon their conventional activities. Program funding, both past and present, is touched on briefly, noting that the long range goal is to develop a diversified funding base mixing member resources with public and private funds. Finally, the possibility of replicating the program nationwide is explored.
