This study summarizes the results of an investigation that took place in Detroit. Results indicate that the more extensive and violent the juvenile career, the greater risk of victim injury. Victims injured in armed robberies and those not injured are included in the sample. Criminal careers of the defendants are examined by utilizing pre-sentence investigation reports and reference to the variables of 'injury robbery,' 'serious injury,' and 'robbery-murder.' In conclusion, suggestive, but not conclusive association is offered between violent offenses as a juvenile and victim injury in robbery. The case-control design used in this study is stressed as an invaluable tool in research. 10 notes, 15 references, 3 tables.
