This program, supported by 51 law enforcement agencies, is made up of local, State, and Federal agencies. Crime Alert pays rewards for information that leads to arrests. The police department utilizes a media specialist, and camera and production equipment. The Crime Alert system has served to involve the public, and allows citizens to provide information that is vital to solving crime. These individuals remain anonymous and receive a cash reward. The program is managed by volunteers from the community together with police department support. A Crime Alert Board meets every month and discusses information such as fund raising, special committee reports, and reward possibilities.
