This selectively annotated bibliography lists approximately 2,500 books, reports, journal articles, media articles, and other publications focusing on terrorism.
Abstract
Most of the documents were published between 1980 and 1986. Citations providing general treatments of the subject focus on definitions, theories, the history of terrorism, terrorist tactics, trends, and research approaches. Documents on terrorist tactics are grouped according to their focus on assassinations, bombings, skyjackings, hostage taking, and nuclear and other forms of high-technology terrorism. Other sections list documents focusing on philosophical approaches, terrorist infrastructure, terrorism by geographic area, responses to terrorism, the media and terrorism, psychological and medical approaches, fiction, related studies, and bibliographies.
