Abstract
The impact of AIDS and HIV infection on local drug users, individuals, and extended families cannot be over emphasized in its impact on general practice. This paper lists HIV related problems that require attention and involvement and suggests possible and probable areas of intervention. Extensive involvement with family and non-statutory workers is emphasized as the best way to understand the pressures and dangers to which individual patients are exposed. 2 tables and 6 references.
