Software developed in the People's Republic of China now permits the management of identification cards and population information for one million people.
Abstract
The two sets of software were developed using the advanced languages FOXBASE Plus and BASICA separately. A computer-assisted retrieval system was also developed that used Chinese characters, has distinctive Chinese features, and works along with microfilm reader-printer terminals. The system makes it possible to retrieve a required message from a microcomputer in about 2 seconds and then to retrieve the corresponding picture from a reader-printer within 20 seconds. 2 references.
